Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Frugio ("we", "us", or "the App") handles information in connection with your use of the application. The App is designed around a single principle: your financial data remains on your device. This Policy explains the limited circumstances in which the App accesses the network, what information is involved, and how we treat any data we receive.
1. Information We Collect
We do not operate a server, do not maintain user accounts, and do not use analytics or tracking services. We are unable to access your transactions, accounts, envelopes, notes, receipts, balances, or any other content you create within the App. None of that information is transmitted to us.
All financial data is stored locally on your device. If you uninstall the App, that data is deleted along with it.
2. Data Stored on Your Device
The App stores the following information locally on your device:
- Transactions — amounts, dates, notes, and category tags you record.
- Accounts and envelopes — wallets you create, including their names, currencies, and starting balances.
- Recurring rules — scheduled transactions such as salary, subscriptions, and bills.
- Receipt images — when you scan a receipt, the image may be temporarily stored on your device while the on-device AI extracts the relevant information. You may delete these images at any time.
- Preferences — your primary currency, notification settings, and Pro purchase status.
3. Network Activity
The App is designed to operate offline. A small number of features require a network connection. In each case described below, only the minimum information necessary is exchanged with a third party, and your transaction data is never included in any network request.
3.1 Exchange Rates
If you use the multi-currency feature, the App retrieves public foreign exchange rates from a publicly available rate service. Only the currency pair required to complete your request (for example, "USD to IDR") is transmitted. No transaction data and no user identifier are sent. Retrieved rates are cached on your device.
3.2 In-App Purchases
Frugio Pro purchases are processed by the Google Play Store. When you purchase or restore a Pro entitlement, the App communicates with Google Play in order to verify your purchase. Google receives the standard purchase data required to process and validate the transaction. For further details, please refer to Google's Privacy Policy . We do not receive your payment information.
3.3 AI Model Download
The AI receipt-scanning feature relies on a model that runs entirely on your device. When you enable the feature for the first time, the App downloads the model file from a public distribution server. Only the request necessary to retrieve the file is transmitted; no personal data is included in this request.
Receipts you scan never leave your device. All image analysis takes place locally on your phone.
4. Permissions Requested by the App
- Camera and Photos — requested only when you choose to scan a receipt. Used to capture or select an image for on-device AI processing. Images are not uploaded.
- Notifications — used to remind you about upcoming planned transactions, such as bills or salary. Notifications are scheduled and delivered entirely on your device.
- Storage — used to read the AI model file downloaded for receipt scanning and to maintain your local data.
5. Children
The App is not directed at children under the age of thirteen (13). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we can take appropriate action.
6. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will also be noted in the App's release notes.
